Accessible, easy-to-read information helps spread the word about elections & the importance of casting their vote in our community.

Together with staff, volunteers, and participants, we’ve created a colourful zine to engage with the community about the Municipal Elections on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022.

Learn what a city councillor does and what kinds of services municipalities are responsible for. The zine is fun and short-form and engages with people who are unsure about voting or have other vital things on their minds.

The zine is just one part of our work to improve voter turnout in our community this year.

  • We hosted an ID clinic for folks needing proper identification to vote.
  • Staff hosted Politics in the Drop-in, where participants learned about the civic election process and how it affects our lives.
  • WCWRC is a pick-up/drop-off point for the Free Winnipeg Transit Election Shuttle Bus for folks ready to cast their vote on October 20th.

These opportunities are great for learning about the elections, government, candidates and the voting process. We hope to see more community get out and vote this year.
