This award is such a great honour, especially considering the many incredible women nominees. Thank you to all the staff, board and supporters who nominated Lorie. And thank you Lorie for everything you do for West Central Women’s Resource Centre and the community.
Organized by the Manitoba Status of Women Secretariat, the Empower Awards focuses on community involvement, demonstrated need, and intersectionality, addressing systemic issues and lasting change. As the COVID-19 pandemic continued, this year’s award also acknowledges the exceptional contributions to managing the pandemic within their communities.
