Childminding

Our Childminding Program is a response to the need for occasional childcare and the desire of many people to find work. We train childminders then connect them with childminding requests that come to us from different organizations or institutions. The program offers an opportunity for people in the West Central community to receive free training and learn job skills in childminding. They’re then able to provide safe, fun and interactive care for children and earn extra income through the occasional Childminding work that we match them up with.

The Childminding Program benefits community organizations, learning institutions and others by supplying reliable childcare for workshops, programming, meetings and other gatherings. The availability of childcare assists local residents and families in accessing these services, programming or gatherings.

The Program currently offers casual employment opportunities to an average of 30 childminders and provides occasional childcare for over 40 community agencies.
